Adventures of Pachelot

Written By Wendy Caszatt-Allen

When we read Wendy Caszatt-Allen’s first Pachelot (Pach-e-low) adventure, we immediately fell in love with her fantastic writing and her main character—this incredible Australian Shepard. Everyone who reads these books, wishes they had a dog like Pachelot. Wendy writes like 'the modern day Jack London' and her books have already been optioned for the big screen.

She will quickly become a favorite writer of adventure of yours and your kids.

Ages 6-12.

Last Voyage of the Griffon

In 1679 La Salle’s famous ship the Griffon mysteriously disappeared on Lake Michigan. There is only one who knows the true story of events surrounding this tragedy: Pachelot, the ship’s dog.

Daring the wilderness dangers of the Old Northwest, Pachelot and his friend Keta desperately try to save a ship cursed to sail through a crack of doom.

Fort Brokenheart

I was surrounded by warriors pointing long sharp spears at me. I couldn't run, or fight, or really do anything useful at all. So I bared my teeth and growled. At least the Terror of the Woods would die with a snarl on his face! Just then Badger pushed her way past the circle of warriors and threw her arms around my neck. “Don't hurt him!” she cried. “He is my medicine dog!”

After the sinking of the Griffon, Pachelot’s adventures in the Old Northwest continue as he and Badger try to discover the fate of Keta. Pachelot joins forces with a coureur de bois – a woods runner – who is after a renegade fur trapper carrying a deadly weapon intended for an unsuspecting Indian tribe allied with the French.

The chase is on through the swirl of danger and suspense as one of the deadliest wars ever fought on the North American continent heats up with the threat of the total destruction of the newly built Fort Brokenheart. Pachelot and his friends adventure deep into the wilderness where survival becomes a fight against the forces of nature and the nature of man.
